Bacio di Latte on Canon Drive: Comfortable, Inviting, with Great Familiarity and Amazing Desserts
by Marty Halfon
You know how rare it is to find a place in Beverly Hills that actually feels like it’s part of the neighborhood?Ā Ā
That’s what we’ve found in Bacio di Latte Beverly Hills.
When a Family Business Gets It Right
Living here as long as I have, you develop a sixth sense for what’s real and what’s just for show. Bacio di Latte is the real deal. Brothers Edoardo and Luigi Tonolli started this back in 2011 in SĆ£o Paulo, and you can feel that family touch the moment you walk in. This isn’t some corporate concept rolled out by a committeeāit’s people who genuinely care about what they’re doing, and it shows in every detail.

Why Bacio di Latte Beverly Hills Feels Different
Here’s what I love: the place is beautiful, yesābut it’s not precious about it. You know what I mean? It’s stylish without being stuffy, comfortable without being casual. You can walk in after dinner in your neighborhood clothes and feel completely at ease. That’s incredibly hard to pull off in this city, but somehow they’ve nailed it.
It’s just up from Porta Via on North Canon, right in the heart of where so many of us live and walk every day. And that’s exactly where a place like this should be, woven into the fabric of daily life, not set apart from it.

The New Evening Tradition
My routine now? Dinner at home or one of our favorite local spots, then a walk up Canon Drive. It’s become one of those simple pleasures that makes living here feel special again, the way it used to feel before everything became so… polished and performance-driven.
There’s something about having a neighborhood gelato shop, a real one, that brings back that sense of community. You start recognizing the same faces, the staff remembers what you like, and suddenly you realize: this is what we’ve been missing.

The Gelato at Bacio di Latte Beverly Hills
Look, I’m not going to oversell this, but the gelato and sorbets at Bacio di Latte Beverly Hills are genuinely exceptional. Creamy, authentic, full of real flavor. After trying dozens of gelato places over the years (and trust me, I have), you know the difference between the real thing and something that’s just trying to look the part….I love this place!
The Buttercream Pretzel has become my absolute favorite, pretzel-flavored gelato meets a rich, buttery pretzel cream. It’s salty, sweet, and layered with this nostalgic comfort that just hits differently. That perfect balance they’ve achieved is exactly what keeps me coming back.
And the Lampone (Raspberry Sorbet)Ā This isn’t your average fruit sorbet. It’s refreshing, bright, and vibrant, made with locally grown fresh raspberries from the Tamai family farm right here in California. You can taste the difference when they use real, quality ingredients like that. It’s the perfect sweet treat when you want something fruity and perfectly balanced.

Why Bacio di Latte Beverly Hills Matters to the Community
Here’s the thing about Beverly Hills. I’ve seen it all. Every trend, every concept, every celebrity chef venture. Most of them come and go. What sticks around? Places that understand that good food, genuine hospitality, and a comfortable atmosphere will never go out of style.
Bacio di Latte Beverly Hills gets that. They’re not trying to reinvent anything or chase trends. They’re just doing one thing extraordinarily well, with care and authenticity. In a neighborhood that can sometimes feel like it’s forgotten how to be a neighborhood, that’s everything.
It reminds me of how things used to be around here, when we had more places that felt like they were ours, part of our daily lives, not just destinations for tourists or special occasions. We need more of that. We need places where you can just… be.
Come See for Yourself
If you’re local, you probably know exactly what I’m talking about. If you’re new to the area, trust me on this one: Bacio di Latte Beverly Hills is the kind of place that’ll make you feel like you belong here.
Stop by after dinner one evening. Get the Buttercream Pretzel. Take a walk. Say hello to your neighbors. This is what neighborhood life should feel like.
